The pre-beach checklist

I’m off for an actual personal trip this week to celebrate one of my favorite people’s bachelorette party weekends down in Miami. It’s been a little while since I’ve been back but I can tell you right now that I can’t wait to put my feet in the sand and sit on the beach with a drink in my hand. We’ll be staying at the Edition, a personal favorite of mine, while hitting up all of the usual spots, though I happily welcome other suggestions! After ample chilly weather in Europe and layers upon layers of clothing being worn plus add in the fact that since getting back stateside I’ve only been in cool weather cities … I need the sun, a swimsuit (how flipping cute is this one?!?) and the beach in my life more than anything right now.

First things first: GO NAKED. Never I repeat never go to the beach without a stop by Spruce & BondI’ll openly admit right here that I have never been on the laser hair removal train until now and that I am I’m not quite sure what I did before it. My first session with Jessica at Flatiron was quick, fast and painless. Yes, painless. If someone had told me years ago that laser was less painful and less time consuming then waxing I would have converted long ago. I’ll be sharing my tips for first timers in an upcoming post but for now just trust me on this one. If you’re not ready to go all in they also offer waxing too!!

Pucker, SoHo, Eyelashes, On the 10 Say screw it to mascara: For a long time I was anti false eyelashes, I didn’t want to look like a member of the Jersey Shore cast but once I kicked up my workouts and found myself alongside the gorg girls with flawless eyes after a massive sweat session I soon realized that I had been a moron. Eyelash extensions are where it is at ladies. Save yourself the embarrassment of running mascara at the beach or on the boat and hit up Pucker‘s SoHo location to get a set of falsies that will make you never want to use a tube of mascara again.

Pro beach goer tip 3
Invest in the gel manicure and pedicure. GlamSquad has come to my rescue more times than I can count on one hand. Sure you can pop into your neighorhood spot (I feel like I’m cheating on QQ Nails as I type this!) but I inevitably am running a million miles an hour pre-trips not to mention that when running your own business you never actually shut down. Thankfully Glamsquad has a massive list of pros that can come early or late to your home, apt, work – pretty much anywhere. I luckily had an amazing woman who did a perfect mani and pedi in record time all while I was able to be on a conference call and respond to emails. For this I will forever be a GlamSquad user. Download the app now. They’re in NYC, Miami, LA and the Hamptons.

On the 10, Impossibly Imperfect, Banana Republic Swim, Le Meridien, Santa Monica

Kick up the sweating: If you read my site often or follow me then you know that I enjoy a good ass kicking, sweat session. I travel often and need to move my body and detox as much as possible. One of my clients, Body Conceptions, is what I have openly talked about here as the sole reason why I have abs. Sure I had them before but not like I do now. The workout targets the core in a way that creates definition and a toned physique. While I’m on the road I also swear by Sweat with Bec’s Cakemaker bands and workouts to target my derriere and thighs. Two things that I’m still working on religiously and I have come to embrace my backside don’t get me wrong but the combination of Body Conceptions and Cakemaker action are a killer combo for your whole body workout.

Happy beaching babes!
