With summer wedding season in full swing finding a versatile dress fit to be worn for an evening ceremony and dancing or a beachside sunset wedding can be a tedious task. Luckily I stumbled upon this Yumi Kim stunner just in time for both of those occasions. I’ve dressed it up here with a pair of heels and long fringe earrings (similar here) topped off with a leather jacket (that’s under $100!) in the event of a chilly evening. Fast forward to an upcoming August wedding on the beach out east and this dress will be worn with flat gold sandals and a boho braid. Not all weddings though come with a simple dress code. Dressy casual? Boho chic? Finest whites? Couples are trying to get creative but for crying out loud, let’s make it a bit easier! See below for a few recommendations and if you’re in a real dress debacle check out my styling services and reach out – I’d love to work with you!
Dress code: White Tie
Dress Code: Black Tie Optional
What to wear: This one is tricky, you can go either way. If going long pick a dress that is a bit less formal such as this two-tone Jill Stuart. If going short, have fun with it! I love this gorgeous dress from Self Portrait. Heels should be kept relatively simple with both of these, go nude or black strappy.
Dress Code: Black tie on the beach (better known as Beach Formal)
What to wear: NO HEELS! Go with a dressy summer number that can be worn with flat sandals or if you absolutely must have height then a pair of wedges. Keep hair done in beach waves or up in a chic ponytail, makeup minimal with a pop of color on your lips. You’ll be the best dressed guest there!
