Dating, wherever you’re at, is a tough game. Dating in New York is an entirely different kind of game, one where you never know what you’ll be thrown into. So trying to pick out an outfit for a date? That fete is damn near impossible.
Dinner dates are the hardest. You could find yourself at that cool underground Ramen spot that’s only open from midnight to 4 am or maybe it’s carb and wine filled romantic dinner for two at Carbone or better yet? You find yourself at the newest French spot that has cozy nooks, a drool worthy menu and a wait for a decent reservation time for at least a month.
It’s a toss up and your date is going to surprise you. So the wardrobe struggle is really REAL.
Sure you could wear skinny jeans, a great silky cami, leather jacket and those black heels that you love so much. Or go the flare, bodysuit, silk trench route (as seen here.) Or you go with a LBD, a denim jacket, OTK boots and a ridiculously cool oversized clutch … Perfect for any of the three options that have been put on the table.
For my little debacle I went for the LBD combo and balanced out the rather risqué combo of a short mini dress with over-the-knee boots as the dress has a high neckline and the denim jacket toughened up the look just a bit. Keep hair and makeup both simple. No need to over do it.
What’s a go to date night look that you love?
