Vintage with a modern punch

Pink Hair, Little Black Dress, Sheer dress, What to Wear, How to wear it, Dallas, Gala, WIW, OOTD

Don’t get me wrong I’m all about a LBD and have said it a number of times before, I’ll never be one to wear a LBD and blend in. I have to make it my own. Case in point … this outfit that I wore to a recent event at the Dallas Museum of Art. Daring? Yes. Bold? Yes. Pushing the limits? Yes. Was I taking a risk? Hells yes. I admit this look isn’t for everyone but I can honestly say that there is something so incredibly liberating yet unnerving at the same time when deciding to literally go pantless in public. It’s not a look you can pull off in 10 minutes so you need to think this through, do the proper prep work and make sure that whatever it is you’ve got on you’re owning it like a badass.

How to pull off sheer without looking like you’ve forgotten your clothes at home?

  • Find a dress silhouette that shows off your curves in a way that you feel amazing in
  • Bodysuits are your best friend. Stock up on different colors, prints and patterns, they go under everything from a sheer dress to overalls and I’m being dead serious on that.
  • Don’t wear lingerie under a sheer dress, it is overkill and you’ll likely wind up showing off a tad more than you care to.
  • Balance out the look with a cropped jacket and closed toe heels.
