The never ending debate of what to wear definitely does not get easier on New Year’s Eve! While sequins might not be for everyone all the time I personally love to wear them even when the ball isn’t dropping at midnight so I’ve pull together a few options that you can wear long after that champagne hangover is gone and the kiss at midnight is a distant memory. Given that today is NYE each of these options are available in store or in some cases, available for in store pick up too to spare your sanity and time from having to go inside to shop.
What most would consider the ultimate NYE party dress. This Parker NY number is the epitome of festive, sexy and NYE party worthy. To hit the dancefloor just add a bright heel with it (you know I live in these mules but here are some other options!), top with fun earrings (these are under $40!) and a ponytail. Chic and easy.
Take it from the party to every day? Ok maybe not every day but you can dress it down a tad. I love to layer chunky sweaters on top of sequin mini’s because it gives the illusion of you wearing a skirt. Add tights (these are my go-tos!) and biker boots for an edgy look.
As a lover of all things sheer this trend has been one of my favorites this season. Black sheer floaty pieces topped with gold beading in intricate patterns? Yes. Please. This style can be great for someone who likes a little more coverage too. Here is a similar one from H&M that comes in under $70 – shop it in store today.
Take it from the party to every day? I now own multiple sheer embellished maxis. I know I know I have a problem but they elevate an everyday look quickly and easily. Layer the sheer dress on top of a black silk cami and leather pants (or jeans) with a pair of heels. Perfect for a night out.
Give me a mini skirt any day. Literally. Even if the temps are dropping low you can be certain to see me in a skirt and tights. This Derek Lam skirt (on major sale at Bergorf’s for the NYC girls and Neiman’s for the rest of you ladies!) is a no brainer. I wore it to my birthday dinner, donned it at a holiday party earlier this month and am in fact re-wearing it this evening for NYE festivities! Shop my whole outfit HERE.
Take it from the party to every day? Similar to the sequin mini dress I’ll be pairing this skirt with a chunky sweater and boots on into March. Want to extend its life even longer? Pair it with a silk halter (or tank) and strappy heels for a fun warm weather outfit.
