Little unknown fact about me … I am a vintage car girl. I grew up around cars and found myself having a personal love for the vintage ones over anything else. Give me a vintage convertible anyday and you can pretty much be guaranteed to be my best friend.
While in Malta we had the opportunity to attend the prestigious Malta Classic, a classic car grand prix unlike any other that has brought some of Europe’s finest classic cars to race around the island ending with a showcase in Mdina. There were over 75 participants in this year’s Classic bringing cars and their owners from all over Europe. On the showcase were some serious drool worthy classics from Riley, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Alvis and so many more.
To my delight we were given the chance to meet some of the car collectors and even had the opportunity to ride in the cars – I had a sweet little classic from the 30s! But even more fun than the cars? Seeing what each driver and collector was wearing as it is encouraged to wear period outfits to coordinate with one’s car and these folks take that very seriously. Classic cars and vintage threads may be two of my favorite things. This couple for instance definitely stole my heart with their coordinating ensembles and their hunter green Talbot. Their backstory was too sweet for words and their passion for restoring old cars and participating in the Malta Classic was something I think some of us can call goals. To be so passionate about something at that age and want to do it together with your partner? Well that’s just a happy life right there.
The weekend commenced with a fun cocktail party at the Corinthia Palace Hotel and Spa where we were staying. Needless to say the classic car folks know a thing or two about throwing a good party!
