NYFW: Misha Nonoo NY

Supporting up and coming designers is crucial in the evolution of the fashion industry, finding that indescribable talent and seeing just what those designers with natural, raw talent are capable of is often times breathtaking. They’re driven, passionate and without a doubt are some of the hardest working people I have ever come across in the industry. Misha Nonoo is one of those designers, the CFDA designer showed her Spring 2015 collection on Friday.  Nonoo, always ahead of the game in a way that Rebecca Minkoff has recently been doing, partnered up with her friend and Brooklyn based artist, Dustin Yellin, to create a stunning collection using custom prints. The designer actually sent Yellin down the runway in the middle of the presentation wearing a halter-neck shirtdress in one of the prints, starbucks in hand and heels on his feet. Adding to the buzz and excitement, Nonoo teamed up with the shopping app Spring (download it asap!) to sell one of the pieces, a long-sleeved tee from the collaboration, in real time via the app.

The collection was stunning as the designers brightly colored designs in loose, easy pieces, often belted at the waist, created glamorous silhouettes that spring dreams are made of. And hello miniskirts. My love of a good mini and a jaw dropping v-neck will never waiver.
