NYFW Chronicles: Diego Binetti Show with Panasonic Beauty

Panasonic Beauty Style Correspondents Diego Binetti AW 2014 Show

This past week was New York Fashion Week, due to a day job that I can’t pop away from, I had to miss a few of the shows but I had the pleasure of being a Panasonic Beauty & LUMIX Style Correspondent during the Diego Binetti AW ‘14 show! It was such a wonderful experience that I got to do alongside a few other blogging gals that you must {no really, MUST} start reading immediately, Jen of Skirt the Rules and Kelly of Kelly in the City.

The girls and I had behind the scenes access where we got to see how the glam squad {aka: the beauty experts} got the models runway ready with shiny tousled tresses, rocker chic makeup and nature inspired manis.

The Diego Binetti show was energy packed and the Argentina-born designer seamlessly married Americana and street style together by bringing together nature-inspired prints, clean skinny pants, bohemian inspired dresses, loads of layers and paired everything perfectly with gorgeous heels and vintage boots. Tres boho chic. Shots from the show are below!

Stylists blew out the models hair with the Nanoe Hair Dryer {dreamy isn’t it?!} then created smooth, tousled tresses using the Nanoe Flat Iron. I am so excited about these two tools, they’ll be staples in my getting ready routine from here on out. {Be on the look out for my giveaway next week, where you could win one of these great products!}

To top it off, I captured  every minute of the action with my new LUMIX GMI Camera, this camera will definitely be a game changer for me. While I love my big DSLR, this camera is tiny, lightweight and the quality is spectacular.  It has all of the capabilities and then some that other cameras offer and even though it’s super small, you can pair it with small micro-sized interchangeable lenses to up the ante.

Morgan Taylor Nails in action @ the Diego Binetti AW 2014 Show

The nails were fab, lead nail stylist for Morgan Taylor Nail Lacquer, Danielle Candido, created four distinct manicure designs inspired by autumnal leaves and trees. My favorite and what I hope to rock come next fall was the red/black design that used Man Of The Moment, a rich red sponged with Denim Du Jour’s deep blue for a darker look. For a similar look, Danielle used the same dark red color palette, Man Of The Moment, Expresso Yourself and Little Black Dress brought another leafy-ombre nail to the runway.

Get the look:

  • Use Man of The Moment as a base coat with two layers of the bright red
  • Sponge Little Black Dress on to the red starting at one top corner of the nail and working your way across diagonally and down until you achieve desired fade
  • Let dry and top with a high-shine top coat like Make It Last

  • Around the outside edge of the nail, layer Denim Du Jour to give the subtle dark halo look
  • Top with Make It Last

I’ve been a personal fan of Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics for a long time now, their lip tar is my jam. Their lead makeup artist, Daria Debiak, killed it when describing the look she created it was “an ultra modern take on the classic rock ‘n’ roll girl: metallic smokey eyes with a pinky grey lip!”  The clean, modern look was created using the ‘engineer’ and ‘ripley’ cream color concentrates, ‘tarred’ pencils on the eyes and ‘lament’ lip tar on the lips.
