At home workouts because it’s cold AF

January is officially here meaning your outdoor workouts are more than likely not happening – or at least they aren’t for me – and with the impending snow storm hitting the east coast called a Bomb Cyclone (WTAF) I can tell you one thing is certain I won’t be making it out of my apartment to go to a class. So in order to not go stir crazy and to ensure that I’m not slacking on my 2018 goal of doing something active every day I have rounded up some of my absolute favorite at home work outs that you can do in your apartment, house, hotel … wherever. They’ve kept me going even when I’ve been half way around the world.

Body Conceptions

If you’ve been reading my blog for any time now then you know that I started doing this dance cardio class nearly two years ago. This workout is who I credit my strong core to. Sign up for the videos and get your first week free to try them out. Best part is you can piece short workouts together or you can do a full 45 minute class.


This app has been amazing. On days when I’m really struggling to find motivation to workout, which let’s be honest during the winter is often, I can login and book a personal trainer to come to my apartment. Incredibly easy and I’ve found a few instructors that I really mesh well with including one that specializes in Pilates (yasss!) Don’t have any gear at home? No worries! The trainers will bring everything you need for a customized 45 minute workout, whether it’s general training, yoga or pilates.

Xtend Barre Tribeca

While I admittedly have not been a big barre person in recent years I started taking Xtend’s classes last year and really loved their workout. They offer online workouts that you can do in 10, 15 or 20 minute sessions allowing you to mix it up with other things (hello elliptical you old friend!) or so that you can squeeze in a workout between client calls (story of my life.)

Then there is Instagram.

I follow a number of fit babes who crush it on a daily basis. When I feel the need to change things up I’ll make up my own workout using a combination of moves from these ladies. My tip? Use the save function on Instagram to create collections. I have one for booty work, abs, strength training and cardio.

Sweat with Bec

This girl kills it. I first took her class at Bandier’s Studio B a while ago and now whether it’s at Project Equinox, Hotel Americano or on a rooftop in Williamsburg during the summer months she’s always kicking my ass – literally. Her bands go everywhere with me and in my carryon too in the event that the airlines lose my luggage (another story of my life.) A recent gem of a workout HERE.

Zanna Van Dijk

I met this gal in Jamaica back in December and to say she is a gem of a human is an understatement. She also proves that you can have a healthy balance in life through working out and eating right while indulging when you want. Check out her site not only for some great workouts but also some amazing travel vlogs, guides and more. I’ve personally been loving her Instagram workout videos that I’ve found to be easy to incorporate into some of my regular workouts to mix things up or push myself just a bit more.

    Great post! Love the title haha. Reminds me when I lived in Sweden and we tried to be active during winter…not so nice!
