Holiday Gift Guide: Female Owned Business

Coming from a family of female business owners it is in my blood to support fellow ladies building amazing companies and doing incredible things. For the past few year’s I’ve done a full gift guide (see last year’s here!) dedicated to highlighting female owned business that I love. I have found myself fortunate enough to be surrounded by amazing, brilliant women and love that I get to use this platform to bring light to their brands!

So please consider supporting small, local businesses this season!!

Hapi Art – Is an incredibly special artist to me. I found Kristi’s bright, vibrant work when I was decorating my very first solo apt in the West Village. It spoke to me and was this investment piece that I cherished (and still do!) because every time I look at it, it brings me joy. I love that every piece you purchase at Hapi Art is custom made to order and hand-crafted. Kristi’s work is unique, bold, statement making from her oversized large pieces to her new home decor and fabrics, she’s making art more affordable so everyone can experience the joy of being a collector. I am currently waiting on my second piece of art from her and cannot wait to unveil it. Whether you are looking for a bigger gift – hello to this limited edition beauty or need something on the smaller scale – Hapi Art poufs make great gifts – Kristi and her team have done a tremendous job of creating beautifully unique pieces that make the perfect gift!

Hapi Art Custom Art work and pillows make a fab gift for the statement making gal (or guy!)

Luxe gifting, made easy. Always, The Modern Concierge came to be as a result of the current events leaving a void with no in-person celebrations. Stephanie, who leads a team of 20+ makeup artists and hairstylists for weddings and events in Dallas, TX realized that there was a need to spread joy and celebrate life every day, even while at home.  Stephanie, one to always give the best gifts to friends, began work on developing AMC. A modern day concierge. She wanted to create something special that she would want to give and receive. A gift not on the mass market. A thoughtful gift that could be given to a friend for a birthday, a friend in need of a little extra TLC, a gift for the new mom or a gift for no other reason than to brighten someone’s day.

A few of my favorites are The Life Detox Box (it is 2020 right?!), The Breakup Box (all that’s missing is tequila!), The Pamper Yourself Box and The Customize Box. Plus she has a whole shopping section to get any goodie you need for you or a girlfriend!

Harper Sage – A brand that keeps its home in two of my favorite places – Brooklyn and Austin deserves so much of my love. A female duo of two incredible women who set out to empower and inspire women. They manufacture all of their pieces exclusively at women-owned factories to empower women in the male-dominated manufacturing industry. They’re committed to doing business with and hiring a diverse group of majority women, women-identifying, or non-binary individuals as we continue to grow their business. Not to mention they have partnered exclusively with non-profits that take a human rights-based approach to anti-trafficking work on products that support survivors through both in-kind and monetary donations. Their products also serve to educate and connect their community to the cause in distinct and tangible ways.

Oh and they’re sold at Neighborhood Goods so if you’re craving an in person shopping experience you pop into the store, try on the cute new Harper Sage arrivals and enjoy shopping from a handful of other small brands! My personal faves include all of their beautiful blouses and this jumpsuit because both are so easy to wear!

All of the Harper Sage pieces (especially their tops!) are the perfect pieces for Friendsgiving or holiday entertaining!

KBH Jewels – You may recall my love affair with all of the @kbhjewels earlier this year when I had a chance to check them out while in Aspen. The brand is a small, female-led, sustainable fine jewelry brand committed to clean material sourcing, circular practices from the ground up, quality and craftsmanship. I personally love that the jewelry is made in NYC with 100% recycled and reclaimed 14k solid gold, cultivated (lab grown) diamonds, and sustainably cultured South Sea pearls. Everything KBH does is thoughtful and sustainable – jewelry through to the packaging.

The ring I have, the KBH Diamond Wonder Women Ring, makes a PHENOMENAL Christmas gift. KBH designed this signature ring to honor the women who really do it all –the professionals, daughters, friends, mothers, and protectors. #KBHwonderwomen

BOXT – A wine company that I’ve quickly become a fan of, do note they are a Tenth on Hudson client, but what the brand is doing is downright brilliant. Its founder Sarah Puli is one of those women you wouldn’t know is building a wine empire (or used to work in tech), Sarah started BOXT because she wanted to make a wine we could all enjoy whenever and however we wanted at home. BOXT calls ATX home but its grapes are from Napa where they have their own winery that produces their 7 incredible varietals of premium house wine. BOXT is your house wine so that you can enjoy an amazing glass of wine without having to open (and often waste) a whole bottle, it’s in a gorgeous box making it far better for the environment than a bottle. Even better? You can do a wine membership to ensure you always have your house wine on hand – my go to is the #5 and the limited edition 4/5. Price $89 for a la carte or $74 for monthly membership. No brainer, this is the perfect gift for everyone on your list.

Antedotum – Founded by Karina Perez Marconi, who developed this incredible luxury CBD skincare brand because there was a hole in the market. Antedotum believes wholeheartedly in the undeniable benefits of CBD and recognizes that it there is a lot to be said for its benefits for skin health and overall wellness. Both the face serum and face oil have quickly become mainstays in my weekly routine – especially when traveling. They’re great for controlling redness and inflammation – plus the packaging is GORGEOUS!

The Vital Face Oil is a game changer

Natalie Cherie – The epitome of a side hustler, Natalie, a wildly talented artist and I met back ages ago while I we worked in fashion – knowing it wasn’t our “calling.” Natalie showed me her incredible work, lips in bold bright colors, statement words and phrases saying what we all thought. Simply put Natalie’s art explores the interplay between color & texture, and their power to evoke emotions and create a new energy within us. Much of her art is revolved around love and freedom from out self-inflicted need for perfection and order. Natalie’s art has been exhibited in NYC and collected around the world and I’m lucky to still call her a friend. The LOVE print HERE is a limited edition hand embellished print which can be personalized and 20% of proceeds go to Feeding NYC which is a non-profit that provides families in need with complete Thanksgiving Meals!

Packed Party – The name alone should be enough to hint at just how much fun you can have hosting a holiday party. Founder Jordan started Packed Party in 2013 when she had a dream about sending herself a “party for one” package – how fun! The brand is on a mission to get the world partying because they believe in celebrating the little things. As the brand says people won’t remember what you say, but they’ll always remember the way you make ’em feel so Packed Party strives to design products that spark conversation, celebration, or just a smile. You can shop all of my Packed Party holiday festive picks here!

All of the chic wrapping paper is from Packed Party!

Gruvi – If you’ve been here for any amount of time you know that I am a big fan of Gruvi. My dear friend and badass author of The Dry Challenge, Hillary Sheinbaum, introduced me to the brand late in 2020 right before I did my first Dry January. I’ve been sober curious for a while, which I speak about here. But Grüvi is a game changer. They are a line of alcohol-free social beverages founded by a sister brother duo who are genuinely awesome. They are trailblazing a new way to live and socialize with alcohol-free beverages. In a category that was stagnant and under-loved, Grüvi is here to bring joy, fun and good vibes. They believe that everyone should feel their best and be able enjoy a delicious beer or wine with friends without the hangover or the feeling of having to drink an alcoholic beverage. Their seccos are my absolute favorite and I prefer them a lot to other cocktails these days. Check out where to buy them here.

Frances Valentine – While Frances Valentine may not be a traditionally small brand, its co-founder, Elyce Arons is one of the most delightful women I have ever had the chance to encounter. A fascinating woman whose career will forever tump that of most. Elyce launched Frances Valentine with her dear friends Kate and Andy Spade in February of 2016. The trio wanted to create a modern American lifestyle brand with a joyful perspective and I think Arons has certainly accomplished that. I love their original, vintage-modern pieces, there is a uniqueness about each of them that ensures if you’re giving it to anyone they’ll feel special and be able to stand out just a bit from the masses. Modern take on retro prints, patterns and styles. This is definitely a brand for the girl who has an eye for style. Linked all of my favorites below so that you can shop them from a great structured tote in Wine (hello, see below!) to a beautiful cashmere striped cape (it doubles as a blanket for me on long flights!!) to bold statement books and Tiggy-esque sunnies!

The quintessential female boss bag from Frances Valentine.
