Happy Sunday & a few lovely things

NYC, Blogging, Life, Lately, New York Blogger, NY Sunset This past week has in one simple word been wonderful. I have been incredibly fortunate to have my ridiculously talented and inspiring sister in town for an entire week. She came up from Dallas to attend a prestigious workshop and while she’s been in class all day, we definitely made it a priority to enjoy every moment outside of class. We hit up a few of her favorite spots {Meatball Shop, Ditch Plains, Shake Shack, Tortilla Flats to name a few}, had the chance to explore the impeccable Charlotte Tillbury counter in Bergdorf’s gorgeous beauty department and of course did a little shopping while there too. Aside from having her in town, this week has brought some major news for this little blog of mine that I’ll be announcing soon as well as a few major personal updates that will also make their way onto the blog in due time. Needless to say, I’m a very blessed girl to have such a tremendous amount of love and support from my family and friends, especially my sister whose visit could not have come at a better time …

And with that rather personal take on my life lately, I will leave you with a few good reads, noteworthy happenings around NYC this week, things you may have missed on II and one adorable little puppy dressed up. Happy Sunday y’all, here’s to an amazing week ahead.

Good to quite good reads.

  • This is one of the sweetest love stories Humans of NY has shared. It’s sometimes as simple as second chances and small gestures.
  • I simply love this series that Camille Styles has just started, Portrait of a Mentor that is all about dreaming big and inspiring each other.
  • It might still be fall but the cold weather is already doing a number on my skin so I’m moving over to my winter routine a little sooner this year and picking up some of these dry lip remedies.
  • This “What it’s like to burn out” article over on Elle hit me pretty deeply, I highly recommend reading it and then bookmarking it.
  • Just a few friendly reminders that I think we could all benefit from revisiting from time to time.
  • Mistakes are OK and I simply applaud this post from Tiny Buddha reconfirming just that.
  • Maison Kitsune, one of the brands I fortunately got to check out during NYFW, built it’s brand creatively and differently relying heavily on cultivating loyal followers via music.
