Happy July 4th you guys!!

Short weeks are a catch 22, they are seemingly moving slower than usual but at the end of the day you have one (maybe 2) fewer days in the office. This July 4th I am heading down to Texas to enjoy some sun, the pool and ample time with friends and family. Whether you’re laying low this holiday weekend or venturing out of town {hopefully to a beach, lake or pool to escape this crazy weather in NYC!} I hope you have a great weekend and by that I also encourage you to do a little shopping while you’re at it {i.e. take the ipad and put it to use as you work on your tan} A little overwhelmed with the sheer number of sales happening? Dont worry, I’ve got you covered and have rounded up my personal picks for snagging some great deals!

Things to do this weekend in NYC:

Yes, this is crazy but there are other things to do this weekend aside from catching the fireworks tonight on your friend’s rooftop.

  • Kara Walker’s installation at the Domino Sugar Factory in Williamsburg is ending this weekend, I highly recommend hitting it up if you’re in town.
  • Hit up one of my favorite spots Habana Outpost in Brooklyn for Sunday night’s screening of Top Gun… I mean does it get better than outdoors, mexican corn, ritas and a young Tom Cruise saying “I got the need, the need for speed”
  • Head to Governor’s Beach Club and catch the World Cup games outside, I mean you’re on an island, there will be a breeze, you won’t melt. So go out, enjoy a little futbol, some fresh air and maybe some day drinking. Just a thought.
