All About Those Blue Suede Shoes

IMG_6347I love pieces that have stories or hold memories, those are pieces that will forever have a place in my wardrobe. This here little “I’m ready for spring” ensemble has a few stories behind it so read on loves ! I’d love to know what pieces are holding on tight to residency in your closet!

  • This coat is pure, perfect vintage greatness.  My grandmother’s sorority sister (yes they’re in their 80s and still attend sorority meetings – might be one of the cutest things ever!) passed this onto me. Grace had no grandchildren, let alone a girl in her life who had the appreciation for vintage pieces like I did. She traveled the world while she was married to an officer in the Navy, collecting pieces from across the globe. Before her passing, I’d go over to her house with my grammy and pretty much help her clear out her wardrobe, hearing her fascinating stories from her trips – including the delightful details behind each piece. This green coat was custom made for her 5’ 10” frame in Paris, I had it taken in to fit me but kept the lovely swing style.
  • I’ve been holding these Blue Suede Mules hostage until the weather warmed up and snow was officially out of sight out of mind.
  • These vintage earrings were scooped up at a flea market in Vichy, France. I used to frequent this flea market on Wednesdays when I lived there. The market was situated right along the Allier River and was stocked full of locals who were selling everything from vintage finds to homemade jams. {Side note, this was heavenly.}
  • This white shirt, while it does not have a great back story, it is hands down the best white button down I’ve ever bought in my life. Thank you Anthro for nailing it with this gem.

    I love pieces with a good story too! And yours really take the cake. That jacket is the most gorgeous thing! I love the way you’ve styled this outfit – so petty! 🙂
